Workgroups: The Forum has created workgroups to address specific issues concerning the RIM industry and engage with members to discuss the future of the sector, and its path forward.
Annual Event: NASSCOM hosts an annual NIMS event under the aegis of the Forum, which brings together all the stakeholders of the industry, including CEOs of RIM companies, government functionaries, industry analysts and academia. The Summit encourages debate and discussion about the industry, the key global trends driving its growth and the steps that can be taken to remain globally competitive.
Branding and outreach: As part of this activity, research reports, analyst engagement and media outreach is undertaken.
Talent development: As part of this forum, NASSCOM members are partnering with academia to enable educational institutions create specific, standardised industry-relevant curricula and courses and faculty development programmes. A hands on lab, co-invested by ISVs and technology vendors has been created to provide a proof of centre for RIM businesses. The forum also proposes to host RIM job fairs to create career path awareness and position the industry as an emerging career destination.
Policy and regulation creation: The forum is in regular dialogue with both the central and state governments to build policies and address procedural obstacles to further the growth of this sector in the country.
Security: NASSCOM has established the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) to develop best practices for Data Security and Data Privacy under its Self-Regulatory Organisation (SRO) framework.
