With technology becoming all pervasive, businesses are increasingly focused on optimizing their IT infrastructure and related operations to deliver enhanced service levels while ensuring quality and security. Infrastructure Management Services has emerged as a preferred alternative for companies looking to optimise their IT infrastructure.

Remote Infrastructure Management, commonly known as (RIM), is the remote management of the IT infrastructure of a company, such as its workstations (desktop PCs, laptops, notebooks), communications and networking hardware and software, as well as applications, by a service provider. Remote Monitoring and Management is undertaken through global delivery centers, where skilled staff monitor and manage the infrastructure, ensuring uptimes and availability

Over the last few years, the global RIM market has grown rapidly, creating significant opportunities for service providers. NASSCOM has been focusing on this growth sector, and partnering with the industry to create initiatives on growing this opportunity in the country.

The NASSCOM RIM Forum led by industry leaders is focused on building India’s leadership in the RIM space.

Chairman Message

The NASSCOM RIM Forum has been established to foster Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM) opportunities for providers in India. The RIM Forum team has representation from multitude of India based IT services companies having RIM as one of their focus areas.

Over the last five years, the RIM segment has been on an accelerated growth path in India growing at a CAGR of 50 per cent. This sector is estimated to have aggregated export revenues of US$4.3 billion and employs 90,000 people in FY 2010. It is estimated that by 2020 RIM can contribute more than a third of total IT services revenues for India.

Cloud Computing, virtualization, unified communication, green data centers are fast reshaping the technology infrastructure landscape and provide a unique opportunity for RIM providers in India to build unique offerings and new business models.

Working closely with NASSCOM, the Forum provides an opportunity for the RIM providers to meet on a regular basis, share best practices, facilitate creation of business networks, enhance awareness and visibility of RIMS across the globe and liaise with the Government agencies and Academia.

The annual NASSCOM Infrastructure Management Summit (NIMS) conceptualized and developed by the Forum is a unique platform wherein industry leaders, analysts and customers converge to discuss and strategise opportunities and challenges in the changing infrastructure management landscape.
